Taipei, KOMPAS.com - Investment Coordinating Board is sounding out to attract the investment.  This time, BKPM is aiming to Taiwanese investors to be built Indonesia.  For several days, the Chairman of BKPM Gita Wirjawan is visiting Kaohsiung and Taipei, 10 to 13 August 2010.

Head of Indonesian Economic and Trade Office in Taipei Harmen Sembiring told to Kompas in Taipei, “Taiwanese businessmen are like rich people who are not so well known during their existence. They want to prove, Taiwanese businessmen able to participate in the development of various countries, although politically not a lot of countries that recognize it."

In Kaohsiung, the Head of BKPM also held business meetings with Taiwanese entrepreneurs.  They are Motech Industry, the solar energy industry, Sun Power Ceramics, the ceramics industry, Taiwan Sugar, the sugar industry, Gilontas Ocean, the fish processing industry, Linkiss Industry, the cable assembly industry, Shin Chin Industrial, the electronics manufacturing and auto parts, and Sino-American Electronic, the electronics components industry, and the Taiwan Deep Sea Tuna Purse Seiners Boat-owners and Exporters Association.

In addition, the Head of BKPM also meet one on one with entrepreneurs of Kymco motorcycles and Chun Yu Group's steel industry. Also, visit Yieh-United Steel Corporation and Yi-Shou University which is an E-United Group.

These corporations seeking investment opportunities for expansion in manganese mining and processing industry to strengthen the industry's needs.  Although there are no diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Taiwan, trade and economic relations between two countries is essential.

Evidently, if calculated cumulatively in 20 years or the period of 1990-2009, Taiwan was still listed itself as the eighth largest investors, after Japan, Singapore, Mauritius, United Kingdom, United States, South Korea and the Netherlands.
